nowadays, the only difference I feel is that we move on if we know that love is not ours. Love though an abstract feeling has so many feelings attached to it. We feel beautiful in love, we want the time to stand still when we are in love (I am talking about the love towards a particular guy or gal). We like to spend all our free time with them, if not possible then talk all the while with them (with huge phone bills).
Next time, you say I love you…. think twice whether you really do…or is it that we love to be in love?

The reason why it's so difficult to come up with a single, all-encompassing definition for the term "love" is that the term is vague. It's not a single emotion, but instead a genre of emotional states, each state being associated closely with other emotions besides the love itself.

The reason why we'd say "I love you" to our mothers as well as our significant others is that, quite simply, we're talking about completely different emotional states that both happen to be defined under that great genre we call love. Quite a few people love their pets as well; it's just another state that falls under the larger genre.

Even romantic love specifically does not necessarily define only one state; it is a sub-genre of love, including several different emotional states, some of which are felt in combination and some which appear to be mutually exclusive.

We as humans try very hard--understandably so--to define and classify our emotions. The problem is that we often forget that these emotions are not always mutually exclusive; it is entirely possible--and even probable from time to time--to feel more than one thing at the same time. The same holds true for love. I think it is for this reason that my girlfriend is both my lover and my best friend. I am attracted to her, certainly, but while I do most definitely love her in a romantic sense, I also love her in terms of respect and admiration for a highly intelligent mind. I love her as the person who is always there to offer help when I need it, and as the friend whom I just love to hang out with because her company is fun. Just about all of these forms of love can be felt separately, without one or more of the others being present, but rather than trying to describe everything at once, I simply say that I love my girlfriend. It's when we try to delve into the details that the combination often confounds our attempts to create a single definition.

LOVE....as I see it

Love is such a small word but it has so many facets in it. Love can be constructive, destructive, little or abundant. What is love? Love has many theoretical definitions to it by Researchers but I feel each person sees love differently. Those who have just broken up feel hurt by love, those who have found a new partner whom they love, feel love is a bed of roses. A person loves his/ her family, friends, partner…etc. Some love their pets; their teachers and most of us love ourselves.
With each person our equation of love changes. If we are into a love relationship, our life may revolve around the person…. we feel the magnetic pull towards the person. Scientist say love is a chemical reaction in the brain, which stimulates the brain…and hence love. I don’t know the whole process but I pretend not to think to much into it because I like love the way it is.
My most simple definition of love is Like One Very Enormously. Even our age plays an important factor in our perception of love. A child explains love in a different way than an adolescent does, which again is different from the definition of a 40 –50 year old person. I am not writing this because I am in love or because I want to write something mushy. But I am writing it, because the feeling of love amazes me. Sometimes, we feel unconditional love towards someone. Whatever the person says or does we still love him…sometimes there is conditional love… where we love people based on our expectations and conditions. I keep reading in papers that love has lost its real meaning nowadays, and that people are not really in love but just plain infatuation or crushes which they feel is love. I feel that love has not lost its true meaning; it’s only the way of expressing and perceiving it has changed. People may kiss and hold hands to show they love or sometimes a mere meeting of eyes says you love someone.

When walking around yesterday, feeling kind of disoriented beause of the lack of romance in my life, I saw a man running around playing soccer with his sons. There were two of them, running around his legs, kicking the ball, trying to take it away from him. He smiled, but when he looked over at the bench that I had sat down on, you could kind of see a sorrow in his eyes. They were sort of empty, like if something was missing. Immediately I thought "his girlfriend is dead, just walk away felicity", but as so many times before they didn't listen. Sometimes I can just hit myself in the head while my feet walk right into heartache, unable to change their direction. So I leaned into the oak right in front of them, just looking. The man said hi, I smiled at him. He played some more with his kids, then he said that they should play alone for a while, that he neaded a break, and slowly walked towards me. "I'm Michael" he said, smiling, showing me teeths that were taken right out of a colgate commercial. "Felicity" I said, felt his hand (strong, but yet with soft babylike skin), looked into his eyes (there was a glimpse of life there) and smiled back. I felt it in my stomach when he looked at me, he just looked and smiled, didn't say anything. I had to shut Toni Braxton playing "Unbreak my heart" in my head off.

The bliss of a thousand doves flying unto blue lit skies,

Saint Valentine's Day or Valentine's Day is on February 14. It is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other; sending Valentine's cards or candy. The U.S. Greeting Card Association estimates that approximately one billion valentines are sent each year worldwide, making the day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year behind Christmas. The association estimates that women purchase approximately 85 percent of all valentines.
